Bug Editorial was a transformation from raw space to industrial-looking loft offices for a NY based editorial company. Nine tons of steel were introduced to the space, wrapping all existing columns with exposed bolts and structural steel beams spanning the entire space. Doors were made with metal and glass by artisans, a moat with water, bridge and waterfall at entry. Real bugs encased in capsules and displayed at entry foyer. Exposed air conditiong ducts conformed to overall design.
"Inspired in part by the movie “City of Lost Children”, this post-production editorial, hi-tech space was the brain child of founder Andre Betz. Andre wanted a sub-terrain space but above ground; something inspiring for his clients and nothing they had seen before. Found objects sourced from a multitude of demolition yards were incorporated seamlessly into the design." DHD Architecture Interior Design
