East 82nd Street Townhouse, NYC
Gut renovation of existing 2,700 sq. ft. townhouse on east 82nd Street, NYC.  Extension of 18 feet in the rear of building. Addition of one and a half floors and excavation of the basement which required underpinning of buildings on either side.  The finished product was a 5 story, 4,300 sq.ft. single family townhouse which was awarded the first LEED GOLD residential townhouse in New York City.  Being awarded  the GOLD by LEED meant meeting many challanges such as: Air tight interior and capturing rain water for re-use of watering plants and washing exterior surfaces.  The townhouse was equipped with all necessary amenities such as: central air conditioning, Radiant heat, high end kitchen and bathrooms, two gas fireplaces, three outdoor spaces with a large terrace on the top floor with a gas fire pit, elevator, and wine room. Wired for security, cable and internet, audio system throughout and new front and rear facades.

"New York, New York! - as immortalized in song, "If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere". This has been proven true with the Oyster Capital Project on East 82nd Street in Manhattan.

From inception, this 5,220-square-foot, five level (plus basement), single-family townhome in the heart of the upper East Side, was re-designed as an energy efficient, LEED project - no small feat in a dense urban environment like New York. While the Oyster Capital Project is a magnificent achievement in both aesthetic and energy-efficient design, it is in fact, the first residential, multi-story townhome awarded LEED Gold in New York City."
